Hello Friends!

The Earth is our home. The more we care for it, the more it can care

Thank you for caring and thank you for doing your part to help protect

 BUTTERFLY  WITH  KANHIRAPOIL  KIDS

I was in 6th standard B on that day.  We were going through the article about JULIA BUTTERFLY HILL, a well known nature activist, who had spent 738days on a Redwood to prevent it from cutting. At the end of their reading, my students showed their wish to visit the website given in the text book. We watched some video clippings and photos. Julia’s blog was a new experience to my learners. Midhun put forward an idea of writing a letter to Julia for congratulating and giving support, on her efforts she had made and carries on to protect our nature. They prepared some short sentences and I sent it as an E-mail to Julia. There was an option for that in her blog.

The next day as I entered the class, they demanded to check the mail! They wanted to know weather Julia replied or not-I discouraged them by saying that such famous and busy people may never care for these types of mail. But my students were not ready to give up! On my wonder, I saw Julia’s name as the first one in my inbox.....I counted twinkling stars on their eyes at that moment!  They shared their joy with the whole school. And they demanded some print outs of that mail to show all. Now also we can see it in their classroom as a precious thing!  Julia reminded us to do our part to protect our home planet ....Earth is home –not only for men, but for all the other lives too. She added.
